Frequently Asked Questions
Q: What are your hours?
A: Monday - Wednesday: 12:00pm - 8:00pm, Thursday, 1:00pm - 8:00pm, Friday: 10:30am - 8:00pm, and Saturday: 9:00am - 3:30pm
Q: Are my children too young to enroll in music classes/lessons?
A: It is never too early to start. Research has shown that you don’t have to wait until your child knows how to read to start learning about music. We offer age appropriate classes from Kindermusik and Harmony Road Music Program for children from infant to adult. We encourage you to explore our website to find out more about all the exciting programs that we offer for infants, toddlers, preschoolers and kindergarteners.
Q: Can I sign up for lessons in the middle the year?
A: Yes, we offer year round open enrollment. Students may sign up for lessons anytime for both private and group lessons. For group lessons, there are reviews of the previous materials taught at every class, or you may choose to take a few private lessons to bring you up to speed.
Q: Can I try out lessons for one month?
A: Yes. You may try out lessons for one month (4 lessons) by signing up for Trial Lessons before you decide to enroll for the rest of the year. The fees for the Trial Lessons are slightly higher, however, you do not have to pay the registration fee for Trial Lessons.
Q: Can my child switch teacher if we are unsatisfied?
A: Yes. It is definitely one of the advantages of choosing to take lessons with us. We have a number of teachers on staff, so we are able to switch teachers for you. However, we encourage you to speak to our director about your concerns, and we will try to work something out first with your teacher to see if the situation improves.
Q: Who are the teachers?
A: All of our teachers are trained in major universities around the country. They have years of teaching experiences, performance experiences, and pedagogical trainings. You may view your teacher’s bios upon request.
Q: What happens if my child decides to choose another instrument?
A: The advantage of taking lessons with us is that we offer lessons for many instruments under the same roof. We understand that children may change their mind regarding a specific instrument for various reasons. We encourage you to speak to our director so we can address these issues individually. Most of the time, the best solutions may not involve changing instruments, but to address some of the temporary difficulties the children may have (in music lessons in general, or outside factors). In other case, we are definitely flexible in switching instruments for our students
Q: Can we “sit-in” during my child’s group or private lessons?
A: Yes. In fact, we encourage parents to sit in and observe lessons. For most of our group lessons for younger children, parent involvement is required. For our private lessons, we encourage you to sit in for the lesson, or come back 5 minutes prior to the end of the lesson to receive instructions and updates from the teacher. Since we only see the students once per week, parents are our best assistance during the week. Children are most successful in learning instruments when parents are involved.
Q: Do you offer discounts?
A: Yes, we offer a 5% discounts for additional family members, multiple programs, or for paying the yearly tuition in full.
Q: Can siblings share private lessons?
A: Yes, you may. There will be a $10 charge per lesson for sharing a lesson with a sibling. For example, if your monthly tuition is $144, having one additional child sharing a private lesson, your tuition would be $184.
