Theory and Music Composition

Music Composition and Theory Lessons

FEATURES:

Our faculty are trained to teach students of all ages, levels and musical interests. We have teachers who specialize in teaching very young beginners and students with casual musical interests. We also have teachers who specialize in progressive learning for advanced students. We are here to make sure students at all ages, levels, and interests receive quality music lessons and having a rewarding music learning experience.

University Trained Music Teachers
One-on-one lessons taught by our highly qualified faculty. All of our teachers have extensive performance and teaching experiences. They undergo further training by Music Institute of North Texas in its unique pedagogical methods and philosophies to promote better technical foundations, music understanding, and musicality, which will improve the whole learning experience.

Customized Lessons
The lessons are customized and tailor to your individual musical goals and learning pace. No matter which learning path you choose to go with, we will pair you with the appropriate curriculum and faculty to guide you through your musical journey. For cello lessons, we combine the traditional method with the Suzuki method.

All styles of music
We teach the standard repertoire through engaging, age appropriate materials by focusing on building a solid technical foundation, and helping students understand and love music. At the same time, you have the choices of exploring and learning different styles of music.

Professional Environment
We offer one of the best music-learning environments in the D/FW area. Unlike other music schools, we built our facility from the ground up with the sole purpose of providing the best musical learning experience, including state-of-the-art instruments and soundproofing system. Choosing Music Institute of North Texas has an obvious advantage over music lessons in private homes and other less than ideal environment.

Events and Opportunity for Performance
We offer a large variety of performance opportunities, including recitals, festivals, auditions and competitions every year. They include, but not limited to, MINT Performance Exam, Royal Conservatory Music Development Program, Music Teacher Association Sponsored Festivals, Texas State Theory Exam, and local and state competitions. Our faculties are trained experts to fully prepare our students for these events. Students are encouraged to attend these events, as we believe goal-setting promotes progressive learning. However, students are never pressured or required to participate in any events if they choose not to.

Music Theory
Since students have different interests, we have divided the theory learning into two levels.

1. The Budding Musicians Program:
This Program is designed for students who wish to have a more relaxed and recreational curriculum. This program will include the preparation of Texas State theory grade 1-4. Students have the option to participate in recitals, MINT performance exams, recitals and competitions.

2. The MINT Program:
This Program is designed for serious students who are interested in taking the Carnegie Hall Royal Conservatory Achievement Program exams or Texas State Theory Exam grade 5 and above. Students also participate in recitals, and optional festivals, MINT performance exams, auditions, and competitions.
