Kelly Yang Piano Teacher Frisco Texas

Ms. Kelly Yang, pianist

Kelly Yang studied at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, where she graduated with a bachelor’s degree in music education and piano pedagogy. The piano pedagogy program at the University of Illinois is one of the most well-known in the United states.

For over 20 years, Kelly had her own studio in the Chicago area where she taught private lessons from beginner to early advanced levels for all age groups. She organized many recitals for her students, and many of her students won championships at local piano competitions as well.

Since moving to Texas 5 years ago, she has expanded to teaching group lessons to pre-school and kindergarten-aged children.

While it is important for students to learn piano-playing skills, and although students may build confidence and a sense of achievement through competitions and tests, Kelly strives to make sure that her students also gain a genuine appreciation and well-rounded understanding of music. She believes that piano playing should be an enjoyable and positive experience, and she is always working to adapt and understand each student’s unique interests and needs.

Kelly’s hobbies include hiking outdoors and working out at the gym. She is fluent in both English and Korean.
