Hyunjin Wang, pianist

South Korean pianist Hyunjin Wang attained her undergraduate degree from Hanyang University in Korea. Hyunjin has earned her MM degree in piano performance and Certificate of Performance at Texas State University. In Spring 2021 Hyunjin started her Doctoral degree at the University of North Texas under the tutorage of Dr. Pamela Paul. she is currently working as a Teaching Fellow for group and private lessons of college music majors and non-majors, as well as studying pedagogy (teaching) with Dr. Brad Beckman.

Hyunjin has won the Texas State Concerto Competition (twice), first place in the Tuesday Musical Club Young Artists Piano Competition, first place in the Great Composers International Competition (Best Liszt Performance), a finalist in the Patrick W. Price Competition, and the second place in the Rose Petroff Foundation of Texas. 

In 2017, composer Peter Petroff wrote and dedicated the two piano piece Triptych for Hyunjin and SungEun Park. The two pianists premiered this work at the international concert series Seoul One Month Festival. Further, the two pianists also commercially recorded this piece. 

Besides performing, Hyunjin enjoys teaching students of all ages and level.  She is passionate about helping her students reaching her goals.
